Assistant Bar Manager

Il Caminetto is seeking an Assistant Bar Manager to assist in the overseeing of the bar program for the newest addition to our restaurant group. As a storied address in the heart of Whistler’s Village, Il Caminetto has been reimagined by the acclaimed New York-based Rockwell Group into a vibrant, contemporary 160-seat dining room. An understated, nature-inspired interior design speaks to the beauty of the spectacular landscape and plays to the authenticity of the location. The regionally focused menu melds Italian and local flavours to showcase the best of nearby farms and waters.

The Assistant Bar Manager will work alongside the Bar Manager to curate, develop, oversee and manage the bar program, and will work closely with the Wine Director to support the creation and delivery of a unique and elevated beverage guest experience that is in harmony with the kitchen’s food program.

  • The Assistant Bar Manager position is a full time, year-round position
  • Maintains exceptional general bar cleanliness and equipment to optimal specifications
  • Serves as an educator, as well as an inspirational, committed and responsible leader to the restaurant’s FOH teams
  • Prepares for and inspires staff to deliver a memorable beverage experience nightly
  • Works alongside the Bar Manager to assist in designing creative and elevated custom cocktails while being well versed in classic cocktail culture
  • Assists in maintaining cocktail and bar menu, POS programming and updating 86 list
  • Delivers superior customer service through effective training and education
  • Develops a strong rapport with agents and distillers
  • Assists in monthly inventory, maintaining bar par stocks and assist with weekly ordering
  • Participates and assists in the execution of special projects as required


  • 3+ years of experience tending bar in a high end fast paced establishment
  • Experience curating and managing inventory with both fiscal responsibility and award garnering intentions
  • Related University degree or a combination of education and experience
  • Possesses solid background knowledge of spirits, etc.
