Red Star Line
Elisa Bar Manager Katie Ingram
Each and every cocktail on Katie Ingram’s list at Elisa tells a story and the Red Star Line is no exception. Red Star Line was the name of an ocean passenger line that frequently travelled between the United States and the United Kingdom, bringing exotic spices like cinnamon, clove and nutmeg to North America. Katie’s cocktail celebrates this notable moment in our culinary history with bold fruit flavours and stimulating spice-infused bitters. You’ll find the Red Star Line in the “crushable” section of Katie’s bar menu for good reason.
- 45ml Ketel One Citroen Vodka
- 10ml Cherry Heering
- 1oml Giffard Abricot du Rousillon
- 15ml lime juice
- 15ml natural, unsweetened cranberry juice
- 10ml simple syrup
- 2 dashes Bittered Sling Autumn Bog Cranberry Bitters
Combine all ingredients over crushed ice in a Collins glass. Mix to combine and top with more crushed ice. Garnish with lemon zest or a dehydrated lemon wheel.
“This cocktail takes its inspiration from one of my favourite cocktails, the Cosmopolitan. At Elisa, we serve it over crushed ice so you can really see its beautiful, bright red colour. I would love to see your version of the Red Star Line. Share your photo and tag @elisasteak and myself @kringram on Instagram!” – Katie Ingram
