2015 Where Magazine’s ‘Where to Dine’ Awards Honour Araxi Restaurant, Blue Water Cafe, and Thierry Cafe

Vancouver, B.C. (April 30, 2015) – Vancouver’s hospitality leaders convened for Where Magazine’s 2015 ‘Where to Dine’ Awards which honoured Araxi Restaurant and Oyster Bar, Blue Water Cafe, and Thierry Cafe for their industry excellence. These reader’s choice awards represent the opinions of Where Magazine’s well-travelled readers and celebrate the best of Vancouver’s local flavours and genuine hospitality.

“We would like to thank the readers and voters of Where Magazine’s ‘Where to Dine’ Awards,” said Toptable Group president Michael Doyle. “Their recognition of the hard work, diligence, and creativity of our industry’s best continue to highlight Vancouver as a true culinary destination.”

Araxi Restaurant and Oyster Bar proudly accepted the award for “Best Whistler Fine Dining” for the fifth consecutive year. The award is a true reflection of Chef James’ commitment to utilizing local ingredients with the magazine noting that Araxi’s “extensive Pacific Northwest menu includes ingredients sourced from the Pacific Ocean and nearby Pemberton Valley Farms.”

Frank PabstExecutive Chef Frank Pabst and Restaurant Director Stephan Cachard led Blue Water Cafe to win “Best Seafood” for a third consecutive year. Where Magazine stated, “Chef Frank Pabst’s innovative take on West Coast seafood focuses on sustainable species that range from swimming scallops, sturgeon and sablefish to tuna, lobster and plenty more on the regular menu, and also at the all-encompassing raw bar.”

Chef Thierry was once again honoured with the “Best Dessert” designation, a testament of his contemporary approach to the finest French patisseries at Thierry Cafe. Where Magazine says, “Part café, part bar, Thierry’s Busset’s homage to the classic Parisian seduces with an extraordinary array of macarons, hand-crafted chocolates, cakes and savouries, plus perfect coffees, teas and spirits for late evening indulgence.”
